Fairview Road Church of Christ received the Columbia Daily Tribune HERO AWARD for GROUP VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR!

Each year for the past ten years the Columbia Daily Tribune has given HERO AWARDS to recognize exceptional community volunteerism. Not-for-profit groups from around Mid-Missouri nominate groups or individuals to be recognized. This year thirty-six groups or individuals were nominated. The Boone County Council on Aging nominated Fairview Road Church of Christ for our 1300+ volunteer hours put in by 150+ members during 2010 in our work with the Extreme Home Makeover and our community service through Join Us At the Plate. From the thirty-six nominated groups or individuals, seven HERO AWARDS were given in the categories of Outstanding Volunteer in Education, Outstanding Community Protection Volunteer, Outstanding Healthcare Volunteer, Outstanding Lifetime Achievement, Youth Volunteer of the Year, Group Volunteer of the Year and Individual Volunteer of the Year.
Our goal is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community in order to bring glory to God and win others for Jesus. May God be glorified by our service, and may our service and this award give us further opportunity to spread the good news of the Gospel!
